Last week I received the cover for my book The Business of Walt Disney and the Nine Principles of His Success from my publisher, Them Park Press.

I love it!

The book has been a long time in the making, taking me just over three years to research and write it.

TBWD is the first business biography of Walt Disney and a celebration as one of America’s premier and most iconoclastic entrepreneurs, focusing on the broad range of unique opportunities, challenges and successes Walt Disney encountered over the span of his career from 1919 through 1966. It is perfectly appropriate for general readers seeking an appreciation of the amazing productive life of a true cultural icon and business celebrity.

In the second section of the book I identify and discuss the nine principles of Walt’s business success, which are derived inductively from Walt’s own words and actions over his productive career, and can be seen in action in the first part of the book. By identifying these principles and reflecting on them, as students, practitioners, and executives, we can learn how Walt used them to his advantage and can apply them to our own challenges in business, government, and life in general to create better workplaces and a better world, in pursuit of Walt’s mission to create human happiness.

There’s no release date yet, but we’re getting close. Make room for it on your summer reading list!
