Now the #1 Walt Disney biography in Canada
Reviews From Readers
The Business of Walt Disney by Barry Linetsky is an excellent book. It is the first real attempt at telling the whole story of Walt’s career purely from a business standpoint and it definitely achieves its goal. Barry has done his homework. His book is well researched and an easy read (thankfully, since it is 578-page long). He makes excellent use of all the interviews that have been released via Walt’s People over the years and of all the other books about Disney history that were not available to his predecessors.
This is therefore an excellent book to get a great overview of Disney’s career and one that the casual Disney history enthusiasts will want to read right away.
What a great business study. Any business person would enjoy and benefit from reading this book. Added bonus is while you are learning the nine principles, you are entertained by the incredible story of Walt. I have yet to read a book as good as this one for achieving both.
You want this book! “The Business of Walt Disney and the Nine Principles of His Success” works on so many levels. Fans of the Disney Brand now have the benefit of author Barry Linetsky’s extensive research, consolidated into one, well paced volume. You don’t have to love the Disney Brand to gain valuable lessons from this book. But let’s get real… Who isn’t a Disney fan?
A very well researched bio of Walt Disney and the characteristics that made him a truly great leader. Barry has very effectively made use of quotes from the people who worked with Walt to bring the story to life.
[An] entertaining and well-researched book.
[I] just wanted to say thank you for writing such a great book on Walt Disney. I had to write a paper on a leader for school so I chose Disney, and luckily bought your book to read up on him. It was very informative and held my interest all the way through. I liked the things you wrote about capitalism and Disney’s smarts on creating value; I enjoyed seeing the economic angle on Disney and his business which you talked about. … Thanks for writing it and helping this college student out!
